Yours Truly Graphic Designs

May 15th, 2009 Dhareza 1 comment
With the 99Design.com win fresh in my head, I feel it’s important that I upload and share as much of my work as possible. I recently designed these graphics for the up and coming band out of Pittsburgh, ‘Yours Truly.’ I’ve known one of the band members, Justin Portis for a few years so I had a sense of what his style was. Soon, these designs will be seen on t-shirts and other products from the band.

The DaVeronica Code

The DaVeronica Code, originally uploaded by darayz009.

99Designs.com recently held a contest to design Veronica Belmont’s twitter page. Being a fan of hers for years, I went head first into the challenge. It was very easy to come up with the idea since I had designed something for her in the past. I had photoshopped her head onto the Mona Lisa for a CNET project back in 2007 and I played with the Renaissance concept again.  And since the new movie, Angels and Demons, is out and every channel is replaying the Da Vinci Code, it was only natural to do a Da Vinci style background.

It was really exciting to see my design chosen among the many other entries and even more exciting that 550 + thousand people will see it.

The Declaration of Independence in Wingdings

March 19th, 2009 Dhareza 2 comments

I recently saw the entire HBO mini-series, John Adams, in one sitting. Needless to say, I experienced a heightened sense of patriotism and had an urge to create something to capture my feeling of euphoria.

I choose to recreate the Declaration of Independence using the wingdings font as an attempt to combine my love for history and the digital world. The symbols can be translated back to the regular alphabet showing the entire statement as seen on the real Declaration of Independence (line breaks, character spacing and the names of the signers).

Download the PDF version to see the original and translatable file.  Warning: 10mb file

Little Big Planet Reveal

Little Big Planet Reveal, originally uploaded by darayz009.

My third entry to the little big challenge. A rumoured date is floating around the Internet about Little Big Planet’s release, so I envisioned how the game would be advertised in major cities, such as NYC. Textures play a major role in the game so screen printing the logos and the sackboys on all sorts of walls and floors would make sense. The overall look of the poster is taken from the look of the poster for the new Max Payne movie.

This is Little Big Planet

My 2nd entry into Media Molecule’s Little Big Challenge. When I first heard the concept for Little Big Planet, I immediately envisioned the definitive scene from the movie, 300. Here’s hoping that not only will the game allow me to recreate that scene, but I have the skill set to recreate that scene. Oh yeah, I have to get a PS3 as well.
