Tom Clancy Wants Me to Know That I’ve Been Selected

I woke up to an unusually large amount of emails in my personal inbox this morning. Ten. I usually have no more than 4 emails waiting for me in the wee hours of the morning. It couldn’t have all been spam. I’ve been pretty good with keeping junk out of my non-business email. Maybe it was a group of long lost friends who finally found me on Facebook. Or it might be Marissa Miller finally emailing me back after I sent her all those love notes.

No, it wasn’t Marissa Miller. It was Ubisoft letting me know that I was selected to be a beta tester for their latest video game, Tom Clancy’s End War.

I applied to be a beta tester for this game months ago, being a giant fan of Ubisoft / The Tom Clancy series.  When the news broke that Ubisoft rolled out download tokens to select gamers, I was saddened to see that I was not among the lucky gamers.  Well, 2 weeks later, I finally get the email saying that I’ve been selected to test-play this game.  But the question remains – Why 10 emails?  I like to think that Ubisoft felt bad for missing me the first time so they were desparately trying to find me.

I won’t dwell too long about the reasons for sending 10 emails.  I’ll be too busy testing End War.  And sorry, I can’t talk about it.  Had to sign a Non-disclosure agreement.
